With over 8 years experience in the mental health field, and as a graduate of Argosy University specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, I am currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. My areas of expertise are working with people with disabilities and their families. Especially helping clients and their family members adjust to a new way of life. I have years of experience working with people with traumatic brain injuries and their families and caregivers. I am experienced in helping people get through transitional times in their lives. Whether it's the loss of a job, a change in family dynamics, or just a personal time of growth, I can work alongside you to help you make sense of the changes in your life.
I am a experiential, and solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I also use cognitive- behavioral techniques to help clients to become aware of thought distortions which are causing psychological distress, and of behavioral patterns which are reinforcing it, and to correct them. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual, couple, or family to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
I work with clients to collaboratively identify concerns and establish goals that will help enhance relationships, increase self-confidence, improve coping skills, and manage sources of anxiety/stress. I believe that people are generally very resilient and have a great capacity for healing and change.
